Take charge of your health 1 step at a time.

Osteoporosis is a bone disease that makes bones get thinner, weak and brittle. With time, this can lead to bone breaks.

Many people don’t know that they have osteoporosis until they break a bone. That’s why it’s sometimes called a “silent disease.” Osteoporosis affects mostly women, but happens in men, too. The good news is that you’re never too old or too young to improve your bone health.

This booklet will help you see if you’re at risk for osteoporosis, and how you can help prevent it. If you do have osteoporosis, you’ll learn about ways to keep bones strong and prevent bone breaks, including lifestyle changes and medicines.
