Osteoarthritis shares symptoms with several other conditions. Some, like rheumatoid arthritis, are quite serious. Others, like tendonitis, often go away with rest.

Not sure if you have osteoarthritis? This checklist may help you and your doctor decide if your symptoms are osteoarthritis or some other joint condition. Mark the symptoms that apply to you. Discuss them with your doctor at your next visit.

My joints are often stiff and painful.

I generally feel sick and tired.

I often have fevers.

My morning stiffness lasts several hours.

I started having joint pain as a teenager.

The pain and stiffness of my joints are usually severe.

My joints hurt more when I’m active.
