Gloria:
“Telling somebody that you have herpes is a release and it’s a good way to get it off your chest and get it out of your system.

“I wish that maybe I had told somebody sooner than I did. But I just felt like it was the worst thing that could happen to me and I didn’t know how even friends would react to me telling them that I have it, you know, because there’s such a stigma with it. You just, even friends, you don’t know how friends are going to react.

“But your good friends will support you like mine did. Then, as time went on, it got easier to tell people and the more people that I told, the easier it gets to tell and the less shame you have about it, the more people you tell.”
