Shannon:
“My doctor directed me to deal with herpes by taking my medication, and more so, by fostering a healthy attitude around it. I think that was really the best information that she gave me was fostering a healthy attitude.

“Talking to friends, destressing; you know, taking, you know, taking stock of what’s going on in my life and trying to reduce stress because stress can be a big trigger for a herpes outbreak; avoiding foods that can trigger herpes outbreaks. For me, it was predominantly peanuts.

“She suggested meditation as a destresser; I mean, she just really focused a lot on making sure that my life wasn’t overly stressful because a high level of stress could potentially cause a herpes outbreak.”
