Shannon:
“The reality is I only think about having herpes when I’m having an outbreak.

“I think when I first had it, when I first was diagnosed with herpes, I thought about it and then I didn’t think about it. And then I had my second herpes outbreak and I said, oh, they didn’t make a mistake. I think there is a part of me, until I had my second outbreak, that I thought maybe my doctor had made a mistake and I didn’t have herpes.

“I think for the first year I thought about it. I thought about having herpes. Now I think about having herpes when I have an outbreak.”
