Corky:
“You’ve just found out that you have herpes. Spend time with yourself gathering information and understand that, as time passes, the emotions of it will diminish. They really will diminish.

“And, also know that, you know, there are so many people that also have it, that it’s not a shameful thing. I think that was the hardest part for me, it was just, you know, being marked by it.

“At the same time, it’s caused me to reevaluate all kinds of things in my life. I’ve really taken a hard look at being honest with myself about who I am and how I communicate with others. And making every effort, you know, to not judge people for whatever, you know, their condition is, whether it’s herpes or something else.

“You know, we’re all vulnerable to all kinds of things and herpes isn’t life-threatening. It’s just, you know, it’s an inconvenience and... big deal.”
