These medicines help the heart to pump more strongly. It can also help control the heart’s rhythm. This helps improve blood flow. It also helps with foot and leg swelling. These medicines can help you to:

  • Feel and function better.

  • Possibly stay out of the hospital.

Some things to watch for:

  • Signs of too much medicine include not feeling hungry, having nausea or vomiting, lower-stomach pain, diarrhea, being very tired or weak, and slow or irregular heartbeat. Also, blurred vision or halo vision (seeing yellow, green, or white “halos” around objects), confusion, dizziness, and fainting. If you have any of these signs, call your doctor right away.


  • Skin rash or hives. This side effect is rare, but needs medical attention right away.
