Your doctor may recommend counseling as well as medicine to treat your bipolar disorder. You may also decide to be involved with support groups, family counseling, or other activities.

Creating a Bipolar Disorder Treatment Plan (PDF Format) with your doctor may help you keep track of it all. You may want to put in it anything related to treating your illness. This can include your medicines and counseling. But it also can include important reminders about using your medicines, and contact numbers for support groups, doctors, and trusted friends.
