Sharon:
“When I finally received the diagnosis that the shortness of breath and the coughing that I had been experiencing was asthma, I was very taken aback because I believed that asthma was a very serious disease and I knew that it could be very serious.

“So I set about to learn as much as I could about asthma and how to manage it. I’ve learned a lot about my asthma triggers and how to avoid them.

“I’ve learned a lot about monitoring my own asthma...the condition of my airways with peak flow meter, and monitoring my symptoms, so that I’ve been able to prevent my asthma from getting worse. I’ve prevented any serious exacerbation.”
