Debra:
“If I had a friend that was recently diagnosed with anxiety, the first thing I would tell them would be to expect the unexpected.

“That anxiety comes on and it just is very powerful, but there is hope, there’s medication, there are behavioral therapies that work: Being able to depend on someone else that has it, whether it’s a one-on-one contact with a therapist, whether it’s speaking with people in a group that has it...that there are different avenues for different people. I think that’s what I would tell them.”

Patricia:
“If I had a friend who was just diagnosed with anxiety, I would say to her that you’re not going crazy, there is help out there. Seek it.

“Don’t be like me and ignore it and think that you’re going to be okay. There is help out there and you should...I encourage you to go and seek help as soon as possible.”
