Debra:
“If I had a friend that was recently diagnosed with anxiety, the first thing I would tell them would be to expect the unexpected.
“That anxiety comes on and it just is very powerful, but there is hope, theres medication, there are behavioral therapies that work: Being able to depend on someone else that has it, whether its a one-on-one contact with a therapist, whether its speaking with people in a group that has it...that there are different avenues for different people. I think thats what I would tell them.”
Patricia:
“If I had a friend who was just diagnosed with anxiety, I would say to her that youre not going crazy, there is help out there. Seek it.
“Dont be like me and ignore it and think that youre going to be okay. There is help out there and you should...I encourage you to go and seek help as soon as possible.”
